The signing ceremony for the joint operating agreement of the Pak-China Technological and Vocational Institute, constructed with Chinese funding underneath the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), was held at the Gwadar Business Center, marking a positive milestone in Gwadar. During the ceremony, it was announced that young people from Gwadar would benefit from free digital learning opportunities through this institute.
A joint partnership has been made between SICT, Gwadar Port Authority, University of Gwadar, and China Overseas Ports Holding Company to provide six months and professional courses to three years of diploma programs for thousands of youth of Gwadar at no cost, according to a recent message received.
The Chinese government gifted Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCT & VI) to GPA in September 2021 to teach skills related to developing the Gwadar port and nearby cities.PCT & VI’s current new building needs spaces and facilities to meet all teaching, office and accommodation requirements. The department will cooperate with all government departments to handle relevant procedures under Pakistani laws and regulations.
As part of the project, it will also coordinate with COPHC for internships and preferential employment. The University of Gwadar will be responsible for implementing the institute on an international level. The staff will coordinate with the GPA in terms of daily management, learning activities, and overhead.
